Noel A. Black is a sophomore from Colorado Springs, Colorado (he likes skiing). His major is English. He dedicates his paper to the memory of his Grandfather, Donald E. Wilsted, who, Noel writes, "always inspired me and gave me confidence in everything I did. Writing, for me, is the natural human instinct to create order out of feelings and emotions that cannot be explained otherwise. The more beautiful the writing, the closer it comes to expressing and invoking those feelings for the reader. Emily Dickinson was a master of this style of writing, capturing both the simplicity of language and the complex, ity of meaning." Noel also thanks Benjamin Goluboff for being a great teacher!
