Todd S. Herwig, a senior from West Des Moines, Iowa, is an Independent Scholar majoring in Philosophy and East Asian Studies. A past recipient of the Fran Asher Prize in Philosophy, Todd's primary area of philosophical interest is ethics. He is a member of both Phi Sigma Tau (the national philosophy honorary society) and Phi Sigma Iota (the national foreign languages honorary society), and has served on the College's Academic Policies Committee, Academic Honesty Judicial Board, and the Department of Philosophy's Student Academic Advisory Committee. Todd would like to dedicate his submission to Prof. Forest Hansen, who changed his life four years ago by opening up the world of philosophy to him.
