Heather A. Brown: In the end, I created a collage instead of writing a paper. My professor twice sent it back to me, saying "Add here, move this there, do you really need this?" What started out as a little autobiography and personal critique became an amalgamation of my life, my creative writing, and the philosophies of feminism and poetry. . . . Growing up in the North Woods, I spent many wintery days next to the stove, enjoying the company of my beloved cat and reading myths and legends. During my stay at Lake Forest College, I have worked on Tusitala and also been involved in many feminist research and writing organizations and activities. I won the Freshman Writing Contest three years ago, but I never placed in the All-College Writing Contest until now. What a wonderful way to finish up my junior year!
