Abstract

What turns words into action? How do pages make it to the stage? This presentation explores the creative process of turning my anthropological research project, on how Bermudians use performance to create and unify national identity, into a stage production. Using anthropological ethnography, I take interviews and stories from Bermudian lives to explore issues of politics, economics, and violence through various characters and rituals of Bermudian life. I will also perform a short scene from my show, which serves as my senior performance project for my theatre major.
