Abstract

This presentation focuses on the funeral rituals of the Inca, Maya, Aztec, and the Olmec. I compare and contrast the differences between the rituals in general and the differences between classes, religions, and their meanings. The presentation analyzes how the rituals changed over time, and their connection to contemporary culture in the same regions. I do so using anthropological entries and other documented evidence such as academic journal articles.
