Abstract

Chicago is one of the largest cities in the United States and arguably the most architecturally advanced city in the nation. Chicago is also a leader in green building innovation and has one of the largest green building markets in the United States. As for the matter of rentable office space in Chicago, the effectiveness and resulting demand for eco-certified office space is examined using econometric measures. Intriguing market tendencies in Chicago are compared to national studies of eco-certified office space and explained through the perspective of an impact investor.
