Abstract

Concerns such as labor violations, counterfeit products, and a lack of competitive pricing exist in the high fashion industry. However, several companies have taken action to make social contributions to better serve customers, workers, suppliers, and communities. Various philanthropic business models have been created to provide for the social and economic needs of people in varied cultural settings. These actions range from fashion show fundraisers and contributions of money and products, to creating training programs to engage local suppliers and workers in production and distribution activities.
