The Essence of Experience: A Sojourn in Tanzania

Student Presenter(s) and Advisor

Abstract

Study abroad is lauded within academia as the ultimate undergraduate experience. With my brief stay in Tanzania as an example, I show that experiential learning is paramount to a liberal arts education and is generally undervalued by society. It is only through context that we are able to truly understand the myriad connections between the forces we learn about in class and how they manifest themselves in our daily lives.
