Abstract

We provide an introduction Fermat's Last Theorem and examine some specific cases utilizing elementary methods. Specific proof techniques including proof by infinite decent are discussed and methods that have use in determining whether other Diophantine equations have solutions are discussed. Finally, an introduction to advance topics of elliptic curves and modular forms is used to discuss the proof of the general theorem.
