Abstract

Documentary filmmaker and composer, Jesus Ayala Jr. will screen a short documentary on the nature and history of Bitcoin. Developed in 2009, Bitcoin is a peer-to-peer crypto-currency. Remarkably, its value has vacillated from thirty cents to one thousand dollars per bitcoin. In spite of this volatility- or perhaps because of it- investors and technology enthusiasts have eagerly adopted this alternative currency. In this short documentary film, Ayala will explain what a Bitcoin is, explore its history, and appeal while trying to offer insight on its future. The film will feature an original score by Ayala as well.
