Presentation Title

Impact Investing: A Little Money Can Go A Long Way

Student Presenter(s) and Advisor

Anthony Collado, Lake Forest CollegeFollow

Location

Meyer Auditorium

Abstract

Impact investing involves business funding that emphasizes financial and social results. Success is measured in terms of both financial return on investment (ROI) and social return on investment (SROI), such as improved entrepreneurial training, expanded health care, clean water, and a reduced carbon footprint. In addition to the social and environmental benefits, a major goal is the sustainability and scalability of the enterprises created. This study reviewed diverse impact investing models ranging from purely philanthropic to entirely commercial, and included case studies in Paraguay, India, Mongolia, and Russia.
