Presentation Title

Paths to Global Citizenship

Location

Skybox

Abstract

Study and experiential learning abroad is one path to becoming a responsible member of the international community; this outcome is a core element of the Lake Forest College mission statement. The College's Paris Program provides opportunities for students to grow as global citizens—through the internship, coursework in French civilization and language, as well as host family stay and excursions to French cultural institutions. Student participants of the Paris program in fall 2014 will define global citizenship development as it applies to their experience abroad, including internships at French Connection Films and France-Amériques, as well as advanced coursework, excursions and connections made to cultural others—family and new friends.
