This thesis is in Spanish. Spanish writer, Max Aub (Paris, 1903-Mexico City, 1972) was exiled to Mexico during the Civil War of 1939. Upon his arrival, he joined his fellow Republicans, artists and intellectuals who were persecuted by Francisco Franco. Among them was the filmmaker Luis Buñuel. Aub’s work in the Americas included the book Campo cerrado (Field of Honor) and Julio Bracho’s Distinto amanecer (Another Dawn), a notorious Mexican film noir produced in what is known as “The Mexican Golden Era” and based upon Max Aub’s play La vida conyugal. In my thesis I will focus on his hybrid works and the mark he has left on Hispanic Literature; moreover, his work in the media affected Mexican culture profoundly.
